Description
We named this box “Pritchard Park” to acknowledge the vibrant triangle of green space that has long been a busy hub in the commercial area of downtown Asheville. It was the location of Asheville’s original 1892 post office. The three-story building was razed in 1932 to make way for the park named in honor of Jeter C. Pritchard who served as a U.S. Senator and as a member of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Recognized as one of Asheville’s outstanding leaders and citizens, Pritchard was deeply interested in the “progress and welfare of this community, ” and “led in civic movements for the uplifting and betterment of the city of Asheville.”
We think coffee and chocolate is just the right “tip of the hat” to acknowledge Mr. Pritchard’s newly revamped park and Asheville’s lively street scene of buskers, performers, and wanderers, and it will keep your feet dancing to the beat of the park’s Friday night drum circles (which we feel sure Mr. Pritchard never imagined).
All of our curated gift boxes include a Meet the Makers brochure that tells the story of the each of the artisan makers of the products in your gift box.
