The Laurel of Asheville | Give a Box of Asheville Goods for the Holidays

This holiday season, Asheville Goods makes gift giving easy. Order from their six themed boxes of edibles, and they’ll ship them to loved ones and friends on your shopping list. “It gives the receiver a good taste of Asheville,” says company founder Celia Naranjo who sources delicious items from nearly 20 different local vendors. One of the newest boxes, the Pisgah View Parkway Box, offers six ready-to-eat items, such as Hickory Nut Gap sopresatta, Roots and Branches black pepper and olive oil crackers, Lusty Monk Mustard, Black Mountain Chocolate sea salt chocolate bar, Green River Picklers spicy Appalachian okra, and Chocolate Gems salted caramels.

Some boxes contain foods and mixes ready to prepare. In the Land of Sky box, for example, the recipient can enjoy stone-ground grits. The Blue Ridge Breakfast Box has a selection that includes West End Bakery biscuit mix, Smoking J’s Fiery Foods Carolina Cayenne Hot Sauce, and Imladris Farm Berry Best Jam.

At the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, pick up one of the two smaller gift bags to surprise a coworker or party host. The Ellington Bag comes with coffee beans from Mountain City Coffee Roasters, UliMana truffles, and Dolce di Maria biscotti, while the Parkway bag comes with several items from the Pisgah View Parkway box. Or stop by Asheville Goods’ booth at the North Asheville Holiday Market on the campus of UNC-Asheville, December 7, 14, and 21. Asheville Goods will also be selling bags and boxes at Blue Ridge Food Ventures’ (BRFV) Holiday Market on December 11. Many of the vendors represented by the boxes began their businesses in BRFV’s kitchen incubator.

Each box comes with a reproduction vintage Asheville postcard and a copy of The Laurel of Asheville. Asheville Goods is available year-round and can also make custom gift boxes with any of the products. “We’ve already done all the hard work for you,” says Celia. Box pick-up options are also available. Support local businesses, and add some Asheville flavor to the holidays.
