Mary Tantillo grew up enjoying traditional Sicilian desserts (biscotti, cannoli, cassata…). When she traveled to Italy as an adult, she broadened her knowledge of the dolci (Italian for sweets!), surveying and sampling across the country. She became a true connoisseur. When she found that her children had food sensitivities, she developed recipes for gluten- and dairy-free versions of her favorites. Each elegant tart, cupcake, cake, and brownie, was created with a mother’s love. When friends and family finally convinced her to start selling them, Dolci di Maria was born.
