Cara Nicole Steinbuchel is an artist, dreamer, lotion maker, and CEO. She started Cara Mae Skin Care in 2004, when asked by a potter friend to create a lotion for her dry hands—hands that spend a lot of time in water, moisture- leaching clay, and quick-drying powdery glazes and slips. Potters’ Skin Butter was born! Cara and her partner, Michelle Rogers, still use their original recipe and create in small batches, committed to making a consistently fabulous lotion while having fun.
