Flavor Matters

In our family, the flavoring of our food is a sacred process. Our Ethiopian Mother, Naomi, and our American mother, Cynthia, both have a key principle when it comes to food: Spice is a way of life. And that principle is something we live by. When we prepare a dish, we use a very specific variety of fresh ingredients, as well as unique Ethiopian & Southern spices. Our American co-founder is a native of The South, with roots in the Cajun Creole cuisine of New Orleans, Tex-mex, as well as southern soul foods in the Carolinas. His mother Cynthia is a master of Cajun Creole, so growing up in a household that mixed creole spices and soul food recipes, he brings an American perception of what a hot sauce should be. And as Ethiopians, we sisters bring a magic for bold flavors and sauces that aren’t typically found in American cuisine, especially in southern styled hot sauces. Our mother, Naomi, is a master at creating the very best of Ethiopian Cuisine. Every time our mother was in the kitchen, the whole neighborhood was excited (and she fed most all of them). And so here we all are! Drawing inspiration from our mothers, blending two beloved food cultures, bringing you something new!
